Prabal Gurung's Twisted Ponytail Is Every Lazy Girl's Dream Hairstyle

Romance is in the hair.
This season, Prabal Gurung was inspired by magical realism, where romantic imagery meets the "curious, intrigued and slightly undone" woman.
What does that mean for lead hairstylist Anthony Turner?
"The idea behind the hair is about something that once was, but is no longer. So the hair was once very perfect, but now, because she's been lost in the forest, it's become weathered and more worn," said the stylist working on behalf of John Masters Organics. "It's a very fine line, because we wanted it to still have a sense of elegance and beauty but also look slightly disheveled."

What does that mean for us? Beautiful, runway tresses we can do ourselves. Even better, clean hair is optional.
Step 1: On damp hair, apply volumizing foam at the roots.
Step 2: Spray hair with John Masters Organics Sea Mist Salt Spray with Lavender.
Step 3: Blow-dry on high heat while scrunching the hair in an upward motion.
Pro tip: Try not to use a brush or comb. You want this to feel as natural as possible. Not to mention, the messier the better.

Step 4: Take the two sides of the hair and twist them into themselves, rolling each side tightly (secure with bobby pins, if needed) and use an elastic to tie the pony at the nape of the neck.
Step 5: Using your hands, pull down on the ponytail and rough up the front a little to make the look a bit more unkempt.
Step 6: Set the look with hairspray.
