THE WINNER IS:
SIENNASAI!
CONGRATULATIONS!

*Where are you from? Tell us a bit about yourself.
I am from India (Delhi). I am a work-at-home mamma of a 4.5 year old girl. I am very passionate about bringing my child up in a creative, playful learning environment fostered by music, books, art and craft and travel. Besides this chunk of time that I spend with her, I learn music (Hindustani Classical) too, write a blog, read a lot, indulge in photography, run the house and yes - run a business. My endeavour - GorgeousKarma - is an online store via which I sell traditional and contemporary jewelry and handspun Pashminas, Cashmere, Ikat Shawls/Stoles. I conceptualize all my items and get these made by artisans from across India. It's also an attempt to showcase the work of Indian artists. India has a rich culture of handmade work and I wish to bring all those in front of the lovers of the handmade across the world. Each and every item in my store is unique and tells a story and that, I feel, makes GorgeousKarma so unique. :)

*What or who inspires you?
I draw inspiration from the fact that we have one life and we must live it in an extraordinary way. Extraordinary - not in the sense of
success or wealth or name and fame, but from an aspect of creative fulfilment, happiness, impacting the world positively and living
without any regrets. I feel really inspired by nature, music, art, books and yes - travel.

*What are 5 things you want people to think when they see your product?
I wish that when people see my products, they feel they have virtually traveled to my country, feel a connection with the artists, and when they wear, they feel special, they feel like they are wearing a piece of the heritage. And most essentially, I want them to feel that they have got this from me with genuine love and care.

*Do you have any family Christmas Traditions?
Even though we are Hindus, we celebrate every festival with equal fervour. And Christmas is a very special festival in our country and in our family. We don't have any specific tradition but we do decorate the Christmas tree, bake cake, go on holiday, my daughter likes dressing up as Santa and we give her gifts and we exchange greetings with friends and family.

*Is there a favorite food that you and your family enjoy during the holidays?
India has wide gamut of gastronomical offers. Me being from the North and my hubby being from the South, we enjoy a range of food at home. So, there's no one delicacy that's a standard during the festivals. I love cooking and hence try South Indian, North Indian, as well as cuisines from other parts of India and outside too (I love Thai, Mediterranean, Italian cuisines).

*What is the best part of Christmas for you?
The way our city (Delhi) is all decked up for Christmas with lights, Christmas trees, flowers - is a very happy feeling. There's a festive feeling all around. Honestly, it feels really nice and warm (inspite of the icy cold weather) to see families in a celebration mood everywhere one goes.

*Which Christmas item in your shop did you enjoy making the most and why?
I loved designing this necklace set. (http://cgi.ebay.in/Pearl-Kundan-Silver-Plated-Bridal-Necklace-Earrings-Set-/280569616093?pt=IN_Jewellery&hash=item41534096dd). I absolutely love snow and love the snow clad vistas but, unfortunately, living in Delhi, never get to experience its beauty. This necklace made in rows of small and big pearls, kundan and silver plated - gave me a feeling of the softness, serenity and bliss of the snow flakes falling on my skin.
